Ismail Yakubu suffers setback
Newport County AFC central defender Ismail Yakubu suffered ankle ligament damage in the recent 1-1 draw with Chesterfield last Saturday.As a result of the initial diagnosis the County medical team can confirm that the player will require further treatment that will rule the 29 year old out for the remainder of the season.
A scan taken on Monday revealed the damage but further tests are needed to confirm whether an operation is required. The results of these further tests will be assessed by the medical team on Wednesday when a decision will be made on whether Yakubu will require surgery.
